Choosing the right orthodontist office is essential to getting the care that you and your family deserve. According to the American Association of Orthodontists, it is estimated that about 50% to 75% of the general population could benefit from orthodontic treatment. If you or your family members fall into this category, follow these tips for choosing the right family orthodontic office.

Location Is Key

Keeping appointments and arriving on time sometimes comes down to how far you need to travel to visit an orthodontist’s office. Choosing a local orthodontist is an easy way to ensure that your appointments are convenient for you and your family. Consider consulting with your family dentist to get recommendations for local orthodontists.

Google Searches

One of the easiest and most common ways to find a local orthodontist office is to use online search tools. You can use search terms like “orthodontist near me” or “local orthodontist.” The search engine will use your current location to return results in your area that best match your search criteria. The added benefit of using a search engine to find an orthodontist is that the search results usually come with ratings and reviews left by the office’s patients.

Search Professional Organizations Online

There are a few different dental organizations that can point you in the right direction. For example, the American Dental Association will have a list of orthodontic specialists in your area. Every state typically has a local dental or orthodontic association that you can request information from to find an orthodontic office near you.

Ask Your Dentist For Recommendations

Your family dentist can provide referrals to orthodontists in your area. They likely have a list of orthodontists that they work with. Your family dentist is a great resource when it comes to finding an orthodontist.

It is not hard to find an orthodontist for your family, but it does require a little effort. Before you decide, be sure to check reviews and make an appointment for a consultation. Consulting with the orthodontist will give you a good idea of how comfortable you are with the practice.

Mondaywas my first time going there for a consultation I had Lindsey. Dr. Best came in and did the consultation and I got great news from both Dr.Best and my dentist as well that I was able to get braces. I got braces today August 6th 2026. I had Rebecca she is awesome . She made me feel comfortable explained everything to me. It was a great experience. I would highly recommend. The ladies up front are friendly and welcoming. Also what I really like is if you havr no insurance they do a payment plan. I am so blessed on my journey. Thank everyone there.

From the moment we walked in, Dr. Best and his entire team were incredible. They were so kind, patient, and knowledgeable, especially with my son, who has autism and ADHD. They took the time to answer every question, never made us feel rushed, and made sure my son felt comfortable every step of the way. Everyone was genuinely friendly and personable, and you can tell they truly care about their patients. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend!
